The Master of Specialist Teaching (Numeracy) is designed for teachers looking to specialise in numeracy or those teaching 'out-of-field' with a desire to gain advanced skills and knowledge in a Victorian Department of Education priority curriculum area.
This course can be completed online/blended and is delivered part-time over 3 years.
You will develop an in-depth understanding of the mathematical content knowledge and mathematical pedagogical knowledge needed to teach students in Years 7-10 as well as an appreciation of the critical role that thinking and real-world contexts play in the engagement of students. Catering for diversity and inclusion in mathematics as well as linking mathematics with other STEM discipline areas are features of the Master of Specialist Teaching (Numeracy).
You will have the opportunity to undertake a professional inquiry on a project of your choice, or a minor thesis completed in the field of Numeracy.


Our course allows you the option to exit with a Graduate Certificate in Specialist Teaching (Mathematics Education).
