The Minister for Training and Skills, the Hon Gayle Tierney MP, requested that an introductory course be developed to provide direct support workers with the skills and knowledge needed to work effectively with NDIS participants as a result of the NDIS being rolled out across Victoria. This qualification has been accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) to meet this need.
If what you have learned at work, from other courses, units, from life experience or training provided at work is relevant to this course, you may be entitled to gain unit credits or exemptions. The University is obliged to recognise the AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organisations.
