I am generally used to learning new things and keen to improve my insight from my youth. In my childhood, one interesting thing I did always: I followed the repair person when they came to my house or near me. I felt very excited to see what they did, why and how they did. Therefore, Mechanical Engineering became my first choice. After completing courses on mechanical, materials etc., I came to know about the future material development process and its future challenges. Since then the material field turned out to be my favourite subject for higher study. Besides this enthusiastic personal interest, my profession has also pulled my eagerness. Since I shall be associated with teaching and research works at the university, the higher study is essential for me to increase my competence in discharging professional duties. An advanced degree on the most demanding idea will propel my competence in this regard.
My field of study was Mechanical Engineering. It covered different topics such as thermodynamics, engineering mechanics, the strength of materials, machine design, heat and mass transfer, machine tools, refrigeration, and air conditioning, automobiles, fluid mechanics, power plant engineering, engineering drawing etc.
My research experience comprises thesis work, and student projects. I have worked on the development of CNG auto-rickshaw driveshaft from a locally available material as my graduate thesis. As part of waste technology, a project on the tyre pyrolysis has successfully been completed. It has been possible to extract high calorific fuel from the scrap tyre in a fractional distillation column. Oil spilling from an oil tanker or ship is a major environmental problem currently occurring in Bangladesh. The local residents are supposed to collect the spilt oil manually due to the unavailability of skimming devices. Pointing out this problem, a simple and economic blanket belt-oil recovery system has been fabricated to meet the problem.
In a similar type of practical problem, I have worked to design a portable solar pumping system for an agricultural irrigation system. The design has been implemented and operated with significant efficiency. In another project to modify the aerofoil shape for maximum efficiency and lift, I conducted a numerical and experimental analysis to obtain a comparison between NACA 0015 and NACA 4415 aerofoil. To reduce the drag force, laminates were added over the surface on the aerofoil for reducing friction. An approximation technique of stress concentration factor of the double-notched plate has been studied using the 2D body force method.
Now for a master's degree, I am intending to work on the development of bimetallic composites. I am very much aware of the standards of a degree from Curtin University and the high level of competition in the admission process. However, I believe my academic background, leadership ability, cooperative skills, and research experiences will help me to get an edge in the admission process. To stick with this research, I can afford to publish in national or international journals and patent of work.
