About this course

Outline Outline

Psychology encompasses aspects of human behaviour using tested theoretical frameworks to examine, explain and predict what we do as individuals and in groups.

In this course you'll be introduced to formal studies of the human mind. You'll learn about the scientist-practitioner model of psychology, exploring the scientific mindset and the role of ethics in psychological research and practice. You'll also have the option to study either child developmental psychology or health psychology.

This course is a fantastic chance to learn about the different career paths psychology has to offer. Once completed, you'll qualify for entry (and credit!) for Curtin's Bachelor of Psychology. And because you'll study part-time and with a choice of online or on-campus study, you'll be able to fit your study around your current lifestyle.

What you'll learn
  • apply principles and concepts of psychology in a variety of contexts relevant to further learning and/or work in an unrelated field
  • apply critical and creative thinking and problem solving skills relevant to psychology to generate innovative solutions to problems
  • use technology appropriately to communicate effectively
  • consider global perspectives on psychology and international psychology standards
  • work professionally in teams and independently, and demonstrate life-long learning skills
