About this course

This workshop applies to workers who use non-specialist skills to perform basic servicing and repairs on a range of machinery according to scheduled maintenance programs. The course covers the following areas:

  • Vehicle pre-start checks
  • Basic vehicle components and configurations, diagnosis and repairs
  • Basic emergency roadside repairs, e.g. changing flat tyres, jump starting flat batteries
  • Small engine services

Entry requirements

To gain entry into VTP462 Maintenance, candidates are required to be aged 16 years or above.

To ensure you have the right skills and support to succeed in your course, a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

To achieve the vocational training program VTP462 Maintenance a total of two (2) units of competency must be completed as listed below.
