About this course

This microcredential gives an overview of securing the organisations business assets based on risk management approach.

Students will:

  • develop an understanding of the risks and defense mechanisms for:
    • network
    • application
    • physical, and
    • wireless security
  • gain insight into:
    • the fundamental concepts of modern cryptography and its applications in cybersecurity
    • foot printing
    • enumeration and
    • social engineering aspects
    • wireless networks, desktop, and operating system vulnerabilities
  • gain an understanding of the steps and process of network defense.

Term 1: This course will be delivered between 13th February 2024 and 6th April 2024 - two hours per week for eight weeks.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be 18 years old by the Census Date of the relevant admission period and have completed Year 10.
