Please click on the link below to access the details of the new qualification: CHC52021Diploma of Community Services.Introduction: This qualification helps you to be an effective Case Manager or a Supervisor who is able to coordinate, handle cases and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client/community-entered. This two-year program with 420 hours of extended work-based training will make you ready to start your career in the community services sector. Throughout the course, you will have specialised required skills to meet the needs of the community services sector through working closely with a range of industry organisations and health providers with access to the required level of support, facilities, and guidance for effective management of cases.

Entry requirements

You will be able to enrol in this qualification if you can demonstrate the following.


Be 18 years of age or above
Have completed high school studies equivalent to the Australian year 12 schooling
Have achieved one of the following English language requirements.

IELTS Test Score of 5.5; OR
PTE Academic Test Score of 42; OR
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) Test Score of 47; OR
OET Pass Grade; OR
Currently studying in Australia and have studied for a period of 6 months or more at AQF Certificate IV level or above.English Language Requirement:As per Department of Home Affairs International students who are looking to apply for student visa must comply with one of the following

English Language requirements to be enrolled in this course. Cambridge English C1 Advanced Test (previously known as Cambridge English: Advanced CAE): At least 169 in each of the 4 components; OR
Occupational English Test (OET): At least B for each of the 4 components.Where the student is unable to provide proof of one of the above listed English Language Tests, ATCWA requires students to provide one of the following

evidence of the English Language to be considered for issuing a confirmation of Enrolment.ACSF Level 4 test outcome at the English Test administered by the Australian Technical College Western Australia; OR
Evidence that English is the medium of instruction at the student's school and has been for the last two (2) years, and the student demonstrates a satisfactory grade in the English language; OR
Evidence that the student is currently studying in Australia, and have studied for a period of 6 months or more at AQF Certificate IV level or above.

Course structure

Work Placement:Enrolling in this qualification enables you to work and gain experience in one of the ATCWA's agreed community sector organisations in Western Australia. According to the work-based training plan of this course, you will be provided with the opportunity to work in a registered community services organisation for a period of 420 hours with access to manage client cases under thorough workplace supervision. It provides you with the opportunity to learn, develop and practice skills to meet industry needs and be a Case Worker or a Case Manager, hence, the successful completion of this Diploma assures you are ready to start your career in the community services sector.Units you will study:
