About this course

Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you're still at school.

You will study the following subject areas and gain unit standard credits towards NCEA:

Health and Safety in Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying
Risk assessment in work environments
Oxy-acteylene welding processes and sheet metal soldering
Basic pipework for plumbing
Basic sheet metal for Plumbing
Basic plumbing and roofing activities

Career pathways

This programme provides an entry to the Plumbing, Gasfitting or Drainlaying industries as a labourer. Future study at level 3 provides an apprenticeship employment pathway, which will lead to registration as a qualified plumber, gasfitter or drainlayer.
