About this course

Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you're still at school.

You will study the following subject areas and gain unit standard credits towards NCEA:

  • Health and Safety in Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying
  • Risk assessment in work environments
  • Oxy-acteylene welding processes and sheet metal soldering
  • Basic pipework for plumbing
  • Basic sheet metal for Plumbing
  • Basic plumbing and roofing activities

Career pathways

This programme provides an entry to the Plumbing, Gasfitting or Drainlaying industries as a labourer. Future study at level 3 provides an apprenticeship employment pathway, which will lead to registration as a qualified plumber, gasfitter or drainlayer.
