A prerequisite for the course is the ability to swim a minimum of 50 metres, unaided and fully clothed. Students must provide a swimming certificate in order to demonstrate they meet the prerequisite and can therefore participate in the water training exercises.

Entrance requirements for apprenticeships
You must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study an apprenticeship or traineeship.
An apprenticeship involves full time work with an employer who provides an opportunity to learn all aspects of a trade. This is a structured program for a fixed period of time and while you learn on the job, you also attend off the job training at SM TAFE.

To gain entry into AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot), candidates are required to:
Demonstrate a solid level 2 or emerging level 3 languidness, literacy and numeracy against the ACSF to undertake this course.
