Entry Requirements
To eligible for admission to the Master of Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control, students must hold:
a three year Bachelor degree in Engineering from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
OR a Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in an environment-related field from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with at least two years full-time equivalent relevant work experience
OR a four year Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing).
Students admitted to the program with a four year Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program.

This certificate will allow you to work as: chief engineer on vessels with inboard engines with propulsion power up to 750 kilowatts within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). second engineer on vessels with inboard engines with propulsion power up to 1500 kilowatts within the EEZ.

Prospective students should preferably hold a Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal)
Student should be currently working in an appropriate role in industry.
In addition to successful completion of Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal), the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) requires students to successfully complete the following to be issued with a new certificate of competency:
Complete an AMSA Mandated Practical Assessment (AMPA)

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to safely operate a commercial vessel of less than 24 metres in length within offshore limits. You will learn skills in shipboard safety, navigation, ship knowledge and vessel operations..
