To enter this qualification, individuals must provide evidence of their technical skills and ability to:
- produce multiple examples of graphic design work that respond effectively to different design challenges
- produce typography that supports the overall design solution
- use graphic design industry software
Skills may have been acquired through personal or work experience, or through formal study.
To meet academic requirements for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses, you need to successfully complete any TasTAFE course entry procedures and you also need to:
Have completed year 12 and provide TasTAFE with a copy of your Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education awarded to you by an agency or authority of a State or Territory; OR,
Provide TasTAFE with a copy of a qualification at Level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework that was awarded to you. This qualification must have been delivered in English; OR,
Complete an approved language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment and display competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both literacy and numeracy.
This training will give you the skills and knowledge required to create visual designs for interactive media components that can be integrated into a range of media products.

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) course is open to students who have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognised higher education institution and who have achieved a GPA of at least 5 (or higher amount set by the School) in a relevant major as well as any specific discipline requirements such as selected perquisites in their undergraduate course.
English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of the study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

Admission is based on the submission of a proposal outlining the territory of exploration, and the nature of the project to be undertaken by the applicant. It is useful and usual for potential applicants to make an appointment to discuss their interests, before submitting their proposal.
