    The Certificate I in Work Education is intended to support post compulsory school age learners with permanent intellectual disabilities to explore work options and access pathways to further specific vocational education and training.

    Entry Requirements

    Applicants are required to undertake a Pre-Training Review to help confirm the course is suitable. Applicants must be willing to provide a Working with Children Check prior to undertaking placement and are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must be willing to obtain a current clear Police Check prior to undertaking placement and are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must be willing to provide proof of their up-to-date immunisation status including Covid-19 to employers to undertake practical placement, if requested. Applicants will be interviewed by the department as part of the Pre-Training Review. Applicants must also provide evidence of a permanent cognitive and/or intellectual disability as outlined in the training package.

    You will need to come to a meeting with a parent or carer to find out if the course will meet your needs.

    Students over 18 will need a current police check to take part in voluntary work.course.

    This free infection control skill set is designed to help staff identify and manage the ongoing risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections.

    Entry Requirements

    Participants need to be currently employed or volunteering in client facing roles irrespective of citizenship or residency status to take part in this training program. They must not have already completed another COVID-19 Infection Control Skill Set.

    Students will be required to undertake a literacy and numeracy assessment to ensure they are capable of completing the online portions of this training.

    As assessment will take place in the workplace, students will need access to the following in order to be able to complete this training:

    * An internet connected device capable of streaming in order to complete on line assessments
    * Access to their workplace COVID safe plan
    * A sink with soap and paper towelling
    * Gloves and a face mask
    * Workplace linen (table cloth, tea towel, work uniforms as may be relevant to the workplace)
    * Disinfectant spray or disinfectant wipes or soap and water.

    The Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry is designed to ensure workers have the skills and knowledge required for the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar water systems. We are no longer accepting applications for this course.

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

    Applicants wishing to enter this qualification will be electricians, plumbers, building practitioners, trades assistants and apprentices across these industries who install solar panel/water collectors.

    Minimum language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).

    Licensed electricians (A Grade) must have:
    Working Safely at Heights
    Apply OH&S requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
    Provide First Aid
    CEC Grid Connect Accreditation and/or stand alone accreditation

    Registered plumbers must hold the following units of competency:
    Working Safely at Heights

    To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

    It is recommended that students entering the Certificate II in Work Education have completed the Certificate I in Work Education 22566VIC previously. However there are no formal prerequisites.

    Entry to the 22481VIC Certificate II in Work Education is restricted to post compulsory school age learners who are committed to seeking employment and have learning support needs

    Entry Requirements

    Each applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-training Review before enrolling to help confirm if the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about skills, knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and employment goals. Students who have previously completed the Certificate I in Work Education are ideal candidates to enrol in this course to build their skills, knowledge and confidence ready to enter the workforce or move on to further study.

    Our WorkSafe training program empowers Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) with the knowledge to exercise their rights and responsibilities under the OHS Act 2004. Learn how to manage hazards and risks, and create a safer work environment.

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age. When enrolling, a valid photo ID such as a driver's license, student ID card, learner's permit or passport is required.

    Please note that enrolment for this course closes three business days prior to the course commencement date. Therefore, it is important that payment for the course is completed before this deadline. Failure to do so will result in you being unable to attend the course on your preferred start date.

    This course must be completed within six months of commencement and students must attend the full course.

    The Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets provides workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure safe practices as a spotter and identify hazards in plants near overhead, underground assets and electrical equipment.

    Entry Requirements

    To participate in this program students must
    * be at least 16 years of age.
    * be currently employed in the industry to participate in this program
    * be aged 18 years at a minimum in order, to satisfy the ESV registration requirement on course completion
    * has completed training and holds competency in the unit HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (within the last 3 years), and;
    * has completed annual refresher training in the unit HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (within the last 12 months) where the HLTAID011 training was completed more than 12 months ago
    and;
    * holds a license to perform High Risk Work (issued by WorkSafe Victoria), for the item of plant that person will be spotting for; Or,
    * has a current ticket/s in the field you want included on your Spotters ticket; Or,
    * has a certificate/statement of attainment from relevant training package/accredited course for each item of plant the spotter is training to spot for; Or be a trained dogman/rigger

    To be eligible for funding, you must be an Australian Citizens or Resident (with residency in Victoria). You can enrol in two funded skill sets per calendar year.

    Learners will be required to present the original documents such as licences/tickets and training certificates to the Department when enrolling in this course for certification.
