Without these basic skills, you won't be able to set foot on a worksite! </p><p>In this program you'll gain the skills and knowledge to control traffic on public roads and construction work sites for the safety of site workers and the general public. You'll learn how to use a stop-slow bat, how to operate a radio, and how to direct traffic. You will also learn how to plan and prepare your worksite, as well as undertake clean-up of the site. This program will also provide you with experience in operating small plant and equipment.</p><p>White Card training is included as part of the program. This is compulsory for anyone working on an Australian construction worksite. Successful completion of this unit means you'll be eligible to apply for a White Card through Service Tasmania.  On successful completion of the program, you will be well-prepared with the skills you need to seek employment as an apprentice or labourer within the civil construction industry.</p></div>

Whether you are a school leaver or a mature-aged person looking for a career change, this course will help you develop an understanding of basic civil skills and principles, as well as expose you to common scenarios you would face on a civil site.</p><p>In this qualification, our experienced teachers will teach you how to work safely to use hand tools, power tools, and small plant and equipment. You'll learn how to plan, organise work and carry out a range of measurements and calculations, and read and interpret plans and specifications. In this course you will also and have the opportunity to undertake basic civil construction projects using basic tools, equipment and materials.</p><p>In the civil construction industry, safety is critical. This course will also provide you with the knowledge you need to work safely and sustainably in the civil industry, as well as how to apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures.  You will also learn how to undertake basic levelling, simple concrete work, and repairing roads and pot holes.</p><p>Gain an advantage over your peers and increase your employment prospects as a potential apprentice or a trades assistant with the foundation skills and knowledge that every tradesperson hopes for!</p><p>On successful completion of this course, you will have the skills you need to provide a range of support tasks applicable to civil construction work sites right around Australia.
