Units 3 & 4: A study score of at least 25 in English/English Language/Literature or at least 30 in EAL.
This degree provides you with transferable ideas, skills and a broad body of professional knowledge in the discipline strands of Film, Television, Visual Effects and Digital Media.
Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) provides 4 years practical training in the production of high quality cinema, television and digital media productions.
A Diploma of Film and Video Design introduces a range of fundamentals skills and knowledge found in film production. You will learn how to develop and take story concepts and bring them to life.

This Honours program provides a fourth year of study for students who have completed the Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production (1284), or an equivalent undergraduate program.
Entry Requirements
The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply.
To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, consideration will be given to the following criteria:
have achieved a grade point average of at least 5.0 in their undergraduate degree
have negotiated one supervisor who is available and willing to facilitate the student's requirements
prospective students must confirm prior to application that their chosen project can be conducted within the appropriate concentration area, that is, check the availability of resources, supervision etc.
submit a proposal outlining the nature of the Research Project they wish to undertake
applicants are required to present a current folio of their most outstanding work.

Academic requirements:
For this programme, you will need the following:
A minimum of 4 years' secondary education;
Be 16 years old by the time the programme starts;
Successfully complete an interview, audition and/or submission;
A minimum total of 40 NCEA credits at level 2 in four subjects;
A minimum of 12 English credits at level 1 or higher;
University Entrance numeracy (or equivalent);
If you haven't met the above NCEA requirements, you'll need one of the following:
A relevant qualification at Level 3 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework or equivalent qualifications (e.g. International Baccalaureate or Cambridge), or;
The New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3);
After you have submitted your application to study at Unitec, you may be asked to attend a skills review session to assess your literacy and numeracy levels. This helps us to enrol you in the best programme and courses for your career pathway.
English requirements for international students:
If English is not your first language, you will need one of the following:
Academic IELTS level 5.5 with no band lower than 5, or;
The New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 3 (Applied).
If you don't meet the English criteria above, we have a range of English Language programmes available, depending on your current level of ability.
If you don't meet these requirements, you may still apply under special or discretionary entrance, or try our New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3).
