    Audition and interview information

    On-campus applicants must attend an audition and interview and perform two contrasting pieces. Applicants for online study will submit a video recording of their performances and attend a phone / Skype interview.

    Applicants will also need to provide:

    • A school exit statement, or evidence of previous education standard achieved.
    • Your own accompanying tracks on MP3 or an iPod if required.
    • Applicants are not required to have undertaken high school music, or Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) practical/theory, or musicianship exams.
    • If you don't have an ATAR, please bring a written statement (500 words) addressing your goals and aspirations as a musician, with some reflection on your musical experiences and training. Please supply your submission at the interview.

    Pre-requisites

    To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

    • English (Units 3 & 4, C)

    We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

    • If you don't have an ATAR, you can attend an interview and supply a portfolio and written statement.
    Interview information

    Applicants who don't have an ATAR must partake in an interview and provide:

    • a head shot style photo of themselves
    • a school exit statement, or evidence of previous education standard achieved
    • a portfolio of examples of your films, and scripts or media works at interview
    • a written statement (500 words) addressing your goals and aspirations in the film and media industries and what area interests you the most (e.g. director, producer, editor, cinematographer, sound recordist, art director etc.). Please supply your submission at interview.

    Note: It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Film and Screen Production.
