Recognised Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or higher, or equivalent training, or satisfactory preparation for the course through previous study or professional experience. Some of the units taken assume some prior knowledge, details of which are given in the description of each unit in the Handbook. The Master of Civil Engineering/Master of Engineering Project Management provides students with advanced study across the breadth of specialisations in Civil Engineering and Project Management.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for admission to Master of Civil Engineering/Master of Engineering Project Management, a student must hold:
a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent three-year or four-year Civil Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing);
OR a Bachelor Honours degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent four-year Civil Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing).
Notwithstanding the amount of credit which may be given towards a Masters degree, a student will be required to complete 60 credit points of courses from each of the degree programs in order to be awarded the double degree.
Note: Only graduates of civil engineering will be admitted to this program due to its focus on technical design. The program is, therefore, not suitable to other engineering graduates.
This course is an engineering technologist-level program which is similar in nature to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (C09066) but does not provide full professional engineering status.
This qualification equips you with knowledge and skills which will enhance your prospects of employment in an engineering or related working environment.

Entrance requirements for apprenticeships
You must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study an apprenticeship or traineeship.
In a traineeship you also gain hands-on skills and work experience, and improve your employment prospects, while earning a wage. On successful completion you will gain a nationally recognised qualification which can lead to rewarding career options. The difference between a traineeship and an apprenticeship is that a traineeship can be either a full time or part time employment based training arrangement, usually for a nominal duration of 12 months or more, generally in a non-trade related area.
