The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science with Honours (BMLSc(Hons)) degree is a four-year programme that includes a comprehensive grounding in health sciences and specialised training in the various laboratory testing disciplines, such as microbiology, biochemistry, and haematology.

To be considered for admission to the programme, applicants must have passed the Second Year and semester one of the Third Year of the degree of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, with a grade average of at least B+. Application for admission must be made no later than 1st March of the Third Year of the course.
Eligible applicants will be ranked, based on their Second Year and semester one Third Year averages and a written application. The top ranked applicants will be interviewed and, based on interview, offered admission to the programme. The number of students admitted to the Honours programme shall not exceed ten in any one year.

The Bachelor of Maori Innovation (BMINN) was created for the next generation of graduates who want to evolve our nation and future thinking through both Western and indigenous worldviews.

The BMINN is open to enrolments in 2024.
The BMINN is open to those with work in the iwi sector, which can include organisations owned by Maori, or a dedicated Kaupapa Maori team or unit within an organisation or government.
Your employer will need to provide verification of your employment, and a partnership agreement with UC to make sure you have support for both your study commitments and workload.

Recommended preparation
First year courses in the BMINN are introductory and no previous knowledge is required.

Financial engineering is a cross-disciplinary field combining financial and economic theory with the mathematical and computational tools needed to design and develop financial products, portfolios, markets, and regulations.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in the Master of Financial Engineering you should have:
a bachelor's degree with a B+ Grade Point Average in 300-level courses; and
completed specified 200-level MATH and STAT courses (or equivalent courses); and
been approved to enrol.
If you have a minimal statistics and finance background, you may be required to take FIEC601 Quantitative Finance and Economics in January-February before enrolling.

The Master of Water Science Management (MWSM) degree is offered in joint partnership between UC and Te Whare Wanaka o Aoraki | Lincoln University, through the Waterways Centre.

The degree of Doctor of Business Administration is awarded on the basis of submission of a thesis and the completion of coursework consisting of six papers. The coursework is an integral and constitutive part of the thesis research of the degree.
Entry Requirements
Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Commerce).
Every applicant must either
be a graduate with a bachelor's honours degree and a postgraduate diploma, or a master's degree in a business discipline, or
in exceptional cases, have alternative equivalent qualifications acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Commerce).
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their previous academic record (normally with a grade average of at least B+), their graduate experience and academic achievements, their commitment to the field of business, evidence that they are committed to ongoing education, and reports from three referees.
Every applicant will normally have at least ten years of experience as a professional in business and demonstrate evidence of leadership in their field.
Every applicant must present evidence of ability for advanced level of academic study.
Initial admission to the programme shall be provisional; it shall be confirmed after successfully completing the coursework component, with no grade below B+ and after a research proposal has been satisfactorily presented at the Oral Confirmation Seminar as part of the residential component of BDBA 906 Research Methodology II.
If admission to the programme is not confirmed, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Commerce) may approve provisional admission of up to one further year or the candidate shall be required to withdraw from the programme.
UC's Master of Hoaka Pounamu | Maori Bilingual and Immersion Teaching and Learning (MHP) is an ideal programme for teachers, leaders, and education researchers to raise the knowledge of te reo Maori in bilingual, immersion, and mainstream settings.

an Aotearoa teaching degree
any bachelor's degree with a major in Education or related subject, with at least a B Grade Average

The BDigiScreen(Hons) is open to anyone who gains entry to the University and no previous experience is required. All subjects are introductory, and your first year will cover broad experiences creating content across film, gaming, and digital media industries.
Some knowledge and passion for cinema, creative writing, sound or art design, or video game development will be especially useful.
A Doctor of Commerce degree is awarded for published original contributions of special excellence in some branch of commerce. A candidate for this degree would normally have graduated from the University of Otago and have held a degree for at least five years before applying.
Entry Requirements
A degree shall be awarded for published original contributions of special excellence in the appropriate discipline. An individual shall only ever be entitled to be awarded one Higher Doctorate from the University of Otago - applications for multiple Higher Doctorates are not permitted.
Every candidate for a Higher Doctoral degree must have held a degree for at least five years before applying for admission to the degree.
A candidate for the degree shall normally be a graduate of the University of Otago, or shall have completed a substantial proportion of the work to be presented while working in an academic or research unit of the University.

Drawing on UC's teaching and research strengths, graduates can obtain a master's-level capstone qualification in the popular area of international relations and diplomacy. This degree will offer you an innovative, interdisciplinary programme of taught courses with a strong professional emphasis.
