Automotive Two - Introduction to Engines

<div><p>Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you're still at school.</p>  <p>Gain an introduction to the automotive and engineering trades through hands-on experience in a range of skills including welding, collision repair, machine and hand tool operation, general engineering tasks and basic automotive servicing skills. This programme will enable you to make an informed decision about your future study and career pathways.</p>  <p>This programme is delivered two days per week (Thursdays and Fridays 9:00am - 3:00pm).</p>  <p>Location: Woolston, SIT</p>  <p>*Places are limited and funding is dependent on availability. <div><p>This comprehensive, hands-on programme covers project management, operations management and e-commerce in relation to supply chain logistics.</p> <p>You'll learn from industry experts how to identify important phases of supply chain and logistical management from internal and external perspectives; evaluate and critique existing operations; identify supply chain and logistical issues; and create effective and sustainable management solutions.</p> <p>You'll also gain a practical understanding of e-commerce and its role in business; develop concepts and analytical methods for managing people and resources; explore the basic principles and terminology of project management; and appraise project plans using MSProject.</p> <p>A key component of your studies will be a work placement of 400 hours. During this time you'll be immersed in a real-word industry environment and have the opportunity to produce work of the highest quality as evidence of your development. Part-time up to 10 years. </p> </div>

In addition, electives in B2B sales and marketing or health and safety leadership will enable you to expand your capabilities to lead and support supply chain logistics.</p>    <p>You'll also channel the knowledge and skills you acquire into a practical industry project for a local business or organisation, in which you'll address business issues or advance business opportunities. In the process, you'll strengthen your understanding of supply chain logistics.</p>  </div>

You and your classmates will also plan and undertake a week-long educational trip, and stage a travel expo attended by travel and tourism industry professionals, to showcase your year's work.</p> <p>To meet Health and Safety requirements, applicants must be physically able to undertake the practical components of the programme in an industry emulated environment.</p></div>
