<div><p>Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you're still at school.</p>    <p>This programme provides the opportunity to gain basic electrical skills and knowledge to either enter a pre-trade programme or employment into the electrical industry as an apprentice. It's also a good grounding for work in the security systems and audio industries.</p>    <p>The programme covers: electrical theory; legislation and regulations; testing and safety; first aid; basic electric motors; basic use of tools; numeracy and literacy for the electrical industry.</p>    <p>This programme is delivered two days per week (Thursdays and Fridays 9:00am - 3:00pm).</p>    <p>Location: Woolston</p>    <p>*Places are limited and funding is dependent on availability. Some courses may incur costs, depending on the learner's eligibility. Part-time 1 year (while still at school). </p></div>

<div><p>Our Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree specialising in journalism is a highly practical programme providing you with the skills and theory to break news stories and be actively involved with the production of news for radio, television or online media.</p> <p>Early in your studies you'll gain a strong grounding in broadcasting and communications theory, writing and researching news bulletins for our radio station. You'll also report TV news stories for broadcast and online.</p> <p>In close collaboration with our media partners, our programme has been designed to produce graduates who will meet the needs of the industry. Our 24-week industry internship gives you more real-world experience, builds your industry contacts and gives you a real edge when it comes to securing your first job.</p></div>

Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications (Journalism)

<div><p>Our Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech) Electrical Major is a three year degree comprising of core and elective courses, with a focus on the design and implementation of engineering technology. The BEngTech (Electrical) is fully accredited by Engineering New Zealand (EngNZ) and is recognised internationally under the Sydney Accord.</p> <p>In your first year of study you'll develop core engineering skills in computing, mathematics, management and the engineering sciences, plus some discipline-specific topics. This forms the foundation upon which you will build your degree. Critical thinking, problem solving and innovation will be a key part of your success.</p> <p>In your second and third years you'll continue to deepen your understanding in electrical engineering and engage in projects to apply your knowledge. A capstone project is run with close ties to industry, with many projects being sponsored by key industry parties. This offers the chance to test your skills against industry standards in a real-world scenario, while building your professional portfolio and developing important industry contacts.
