<div><p>Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you're still at school.</p>    <p>This course will suit you if you're interested in a career in digital creative design and you have some prior experience of gaming, digital media or IT. It's centred around projects that make use of Unreal Engine. You'll gain an understanding of established design ideas and methods; learn drawing techniques; explore design principles and develop ideas through a series of drawings.</p>  <p>Students attend classes at the Madras Campus one day per week (9am - 3pm) for the duration of the programme, as well as being able to complete work remotely between classes in the iQualify online learning platform.</p>  <p>Location: Christchurch</p>  <p>*Places are limited and funding is dependent on availability. Creative Industries Vocational Pathway (Digital Design Level 2)

<div><p>Our degree programme aims to give you tools to become an independent designer or garment producer. You'll learn key skills in design strategy, drawing, garment construction and pattern making. You'll also get to choose two courses from a wide range of electives that will help you to develop specialist skills that suit your goals. As well as studio courses, you'll complete a group of core courses in academic subjects, including both professional and contextual studies, which will give you great communication skills, knowledge of a range of creative practices, and basic business skills.</p> <p>You'll gain real-world industry experience in year one, hearing from guest speakers about their journeys and inspirations, and benefitting from the learning their career paths have given them. We'll also give you opportunities like competitions and fashion events to expose your work to the wider industry.</p> <p>In year two you'll undertake a 40-hour industry placement, which is collection-based. Here you'll gain real world learning about current trends and marketing methods.</p> <p>In the final year you'll have the opportunity, with the guidance of Ara fashion staff, to undertake a further 80-hour work placement where you'll design your own collection based on a designated brief. The company hosting your placement will critique your work and you'll gain invaluable industry experience from those at the top of your field.</p> <p>To conclude your final year you'll undertake a major project encompassing all of the skills you've acquired in design, marketing, small business ownership and construction.</p> <p>Please note: This degree is currently undergoing its regulatory five-yearly review. <div><p>This comprehensive, hands-on programme covers project management, operations management and e-commerce in relation to supply chain logistics.</p> <p>You'll learn from industry experts how to identify important phases of supply chain and logistical management from internal and external perspectives; evaluate and critique existing operations; identify supply chain and logistical issues; and create effective and sustainable management solutions.</p> <p>You'll also gain a practical understanding of e-commerce and its role in business; develop concepts and analytical methods for managing people and resources; explore the basic principles and terminology of project management; and appraise project plans using MSProject.</p> <p>A key component of your studies will be a work placement of 400 hours. During this time you'll be immersed in a real-word industry environment and have the opportunity to produce work of the highest quality as evidence of your development. <div><p>Throughout this programme, core competencies of project management, operations management, resource integration and supply chain logistics are combined to identify and address present-day supply chain issues.</p>    <p>Quantitative techniques will lay the foundation for sound decision-making and problem-solving to address operational issues, while qualitative content will explore the best methods for planning, organising and strategy formulation from the managerial perspective. In addition, electives in B2B sales and marketing or health and safety leadership will enable you to expand your capabilities to lead and support supply chain logistics.</p>    <p>You'll also channel the knowledge and skills you acquire into a practical industry project for a local business or organisation, in which you'll address business issues or advance business opportunities. In the process, you'll strengthen your understanding of supply chain logistics.</p>  </div>

Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Logistics

<div><p>This programme blends theory with real-world learning to cover essential skills needed to work in travel consultancy environments.</p> <p>You'll learn how to use industry-standard systems and processes, research travel products, plan itineraries, prepare quotes, develop and maintain relationships and provide excellent customer service. You and your classmates will also plan and undertake a week-long educational trip, and stage a travel expo attended by travel and tourism industry professionals, to showcase your year's work.</p> <p>To meet Health and Safety requirements, applicants must be physically able to undertake the practical components of the programme in an industry emulated environment.</p></div>
