Certificate III in Maritime Operations

<div><strong>Do you want to start a career at sea? </strong>.<p>This qualification is suitable for people who work as a Coxswain Grade 2 Near Coastal skipper in the maritime industry. This qualification enables graduates to command a commercial marine vessel:</p><ul> <li>up to 12 metres in length</li> <li>with propulsion power that is unlimited for an outboard engine or up to 100 kW for an inboard engine</li> <li>that is not carrying passengers, and to operate this vessel</li> <li>in sheltered waters, and</li> <li>or as a tender or auxiliary vessel within 3 nautical miles (nm) of a parent vessel within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) or within 3 nm from point of departure, shore base or aquaculture lease.</li> </ul><p>You will also gain the following skills:</p><ul> <li>Handling a vessel less than 12 metres in length</li> <li>Applying basic maintenance and environmental knowledge</li> <li>Applying safety procedures at sea, and</li> <li>Demonstrating seamanship skills.</li> </ul></div>

Certificate I in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 2 Near Coastal)

<div><p><strong>Please note, this course can only be accessed by an employed apprentice, if this course interests you, please speak to your employer or employment agency about signing up as an apprentice.</strong></p>.<p/><div><div><div>This qualification provides individuals with the skills and knowledge to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises. It includes Electrical Regulatory Authority Council (ERAC), or their successor's, Essential Performance Capabilities for an 'Unrestricted Electrician's license'.</div></div></div><p/><div><div><div>Competency development activities in this qualification are subject to regulations directly related to licensing. Where a licence or permit to practice is not held, a relevant contract of training through an Australian Apprenticeship, may be required. To obtain an Unrestricted Electrician's Licence in most jurisdictions the qualification must be completed as an apprenticeship or Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) pathway. Where required for Licencing, the certification documentation issued must indicate if the qualification was completed as an apprenticeship or Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) pathway.</div></div></div></div>
