All applicants are required to attend an interview and must have completed Year 10 (or equivalent) to enrol into Year 11 VCE or, have completed Year 11 VCE to enrol into Year 12 VCE, Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of course commencement and have completed a pre-training assessment for literacy and numeracy, Students who are aged under 17 years require a completed Transition from School form from their school
Have a demonstrated capacity in reading ,writing, numeracy, oracy and learning to level 1 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF), Students must be enrolled into a secondary school

Entry Requirements
Applicants must be 17 years and 3 months, of school leaving age or have a transition from school form. All students under 18 years of age must have parental agreement., Applicants must be able to converse with children, families and colleagues in the English language., Applicants must complete 100 hours of work placement within an education setting, as this is a requirement of the course. Placement requires students to engage professionally with children, families and colleagues often in a full-time capacity, applicants must successfully complete BKSB before the enrolment, achieving English Exit Level 3 and Maths Exit level 2, Complete an induction session/ selection interview, Students are required to have a current Working with Children check as it will be required for professional workplace experience, students to satisfy eligibility criteria if the candidate wishes to access government funding (VTG, VET Student Loans etc) or student visa application requirements including genuine student requirements
Applicants must successfully complete BKSB assessment with an outcome of exit level 2 (working at 3) for literacy and exit level 1 (working at 2) for numeracy, It is recommended applicants are 18 years or over

Entry Requirements
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of commencement, Please note students will be required to undertake manual handling, inlcuding heavy lifting of up to 8kg, use restaurant tools, move furniture and be able to stand for a minimum of 4 hour blocks., Trainees must have a Registered Training Agreement with their employer
Applicants must have current Working with Children Check, Current HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 Provide first aid certificate, experience or understanding of the swimming strokes: Freestyle Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke, Sidestroke and Survival backstroke, In addition, students must hold the relevant fitness and strength required to conduct basic water rescues such as towing a person in difficulty at least 10 meters with their nose and mouth above water to the point of safety., Students are asked to sign a statutory declaration acknowledging these requirements upon enrolment.
