    Entry Requirements

    You will need the following:

    1. 48 credits at NCEA Level 2 in four different subjects including:

    • 12 credits in Mathematics (preferably in algebra, geometry and trigonometry) or equivalent
    • 8 credits in English (4 in reading, 4 in writing)

    High levels of oral, written and interpersonal communications and mathematical skills are required to complete this programme.

    2. If English is not your first language, you will need one or more of the following:

    • Have achieved NCEA Level 3 and New Zealand University Entrance
    • Be able to provide evidence you satisfy our criteria for existing English proficiency
    • Have achieved at least one English proficiency outcome in the last two years

    International students Academic requirements

    As a part of this requirement, you must meet at least 16 years of age and meet one of the below;

    • All applicants must be at least 16 years of age when they begin their studies, and they should meet the country-specific admission requirement;
    • And English entry requirements;
      • If English is not your first language, you will also need at least one of the following qualifications:
        • Evidence of an overall IELTS (General or Academic) band score of at least 5 in each band; Or
        • Equivalent described in NZQA Rules and on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students

    Master of Engineering in Renewable Energy

    Masters (Coursework)

    This two-year master qualification provides students with specialised knowledge and professional engineering skills to prepare them for a career in the rapidly-growing renewable energy industry.

    Entry Requirements

    A Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0

    Cognate Disciplines

    Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Photovoltaic/Renewable Energy Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

    English Language Requirements

    All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students.

    Assessment of Qualifications

    Unless otherwise indicated, ANU will accept all Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications or international equivalents that meet or exceed the published admission requirements of our programs, provided all other admission requirements are also met. Where an applicant has more than one completed tertiary qualification, ANU will base assessment on the qualification that best meets the admission requirements for the program.     ANU uses a 7-point Grade Point Average (GPA) scale. All qualifications submitted for admission at ANU will be converted to this common scale, which will determine if an applicant meets our published admission requirements.
