• Relevant bachelor's degree in mathematical sciences (or equivalent) with a B grade average in courses at level 7 or above

In exceptional circumstances an applicant who does not meet the requirements above but who has an appropriate combination of academic and professional experience may be considered for admission subject to completion of any relevant prerequisite courses.

International student entry requirements

• IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; or equivalent

English language requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification however to ensure you have the right skills and support to succeed in your course, a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent).
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 125 or higher.
• Successful completion of a recognised tertiary preparation course.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.

It is recommended that students have a minimum of half of the applicable qualifying sea service as listed below

• 30 days with a completed and approved task book (15 days for course entry)
• 150 days without a completed and approved task book (75 days for course entry)
