    This entry-level qualification gives students an introductory understanding of music theory, foundation skills in live and studio production environments, and an understanding of current sound production technologies.

    Entry Requirements

    Although an entry level qualification, students entering this course will have a background in music/sound from either high school or amateur experience. Students intending to enrol in the Introduction to Ensembles cluster will need to contact the Music Industry Centre (MIC) on 6207 3583 to book an audition.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no specific entry requirements for the Bachelor of Commercial Music, outside of university admission regulations.

    However for the Bachelor of Commercial Music (Music Practice) you must register for an audition. You should apply for entry to this degree before registering for your audition and you will be assessed for selection into the programme.

    The Bachelor of Commercial Music (Honours) is a one-year degree, with taught courses followed by an independent project. You'll get one-on-one mentorship and support from our industry-connected academics.

    Entry Requirements

    To enter the Bachelor of Commercial Music (Honours) you will:

    • have been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor of Commercial Music, or equivalent, with at least a B grade average over the highest level courses.

    You must provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

    Applicants must have a Certificate IV in Music, or equivalent skills, knowledge, and industry experience.
    Applicants may be invited to an interview to provide a resume of educational record and work experience as well as portfolio of work example or complete an audition demonstrating skills on chosen instrument or voice.

    Students enrolling into the Live Production and Technical Services course will have an interest in and looking for a career in providing services for the entertainment industry.

    Entry Requirements

    You will be required to attend an interview to determine your suitability. You will be asked to demonstrate your interest and engagement in live productions due to the limit in enrolment numbers.

    Interviews for term 2 enrolments will be held on Monday 8 April at the Canberra Theatre - you can book in a time for your interview by filling out the following form: CIT Live Production Interview Booking Form.
