Qualification
The ideal person will be highly skilled and experienced in accounting for PE/VC, have experience with GAAP and non-GAAP basis, and be willing to work closely with faculty to ensure the data and process meet specific standards for research. This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in pursuing an MBA or a Masters in Finance.
Responsibilities
The Principal Investigators aim to further academic research on impact investing and the selected candidate
will get an opportunity to learn more about the space and understand the research process in finance. The
key responsibilities of the position include:
- Supporting the development of a database by accurately interpreting and coding financial data.
- Reading financial statements from a variety of sources including large investing firms, foundations, development finance institutions, and family offices.
- Implementing a guide for coding financials from balance sheets, cash flow statements, and income statements to find variables such as deal volume, AUM, IRR, NAV, and cash flows.
- Working closely with faculty to maintain documentation for the coding process, and suggesting improvements where appropriate.
Required skills:
- CA or CPA or equivalent.
- Must have experience in preparing and interpreting financial statements
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Candidates with the following skills would be preferred:
- Experience with PE/VC accounting.
- Experience with both GAAP and non-GAAP basis.
- Experience with forensic accounting.
- Experience teaching or tutoring in accounting.
